ON A TIME TRAVEL
A walk with a difference
‘They come and go. They come to see, the Zolli celebrates its 150th anniversary. Can you hear the birds cheering? They congratulate.
You can orchestrate a proper celebration for this special birthday!’
Join us on a walk through Basel Zoo and immerse yourself in the stories of people who have a special connection with this place and its inhabitants.
Follow the water, which reflects the animals, the people, the weather, the events and happenings, the trees and dreams. On the audio walk through the garden, animal keepers, vets and behavioural scientists, directors, regular guests and children talk about their personal experiences at the Zolli – then and now. The multi-perspective collage shows how our relationship with animals has changed over the last 150 years and interweaves with what we experience live. Real time and history overlap and revive our own memories. See and hear Basel Zoo from a new perspective. The colonial and racist history of the zoo is also illuminated.
Everyone is invited to join the audio walk. The walk through the zoo is an immersive experience and lets you dive into a world of your own.
